Rigenerazione climatica green degli streetscapes – L’esperienza di De Urbanisten ad Anversa

Abstract

Il contributo si propone di esplorare il tema della complessità in architettura attraverso alcune delle sfide del nostro tempo. Riflettere sulla trans-disciplinarità in architettura significa avventurarsi in territori incerti: l’architettura utilizza modalità ibride per comprendere la realtà, collegando conoscenze scientifiche e non, così come intuizioni teoriche e pratiche. L’articolo presenta una ricerca in corso sugli streetscape adattivi al clima e con soluzioni basate sulla natura applicata alla Città di Matera (IT), con un focus sul ruolo dei processi di rigenerazione urbana in cui la relazione tra progetto e ricerca è fondamentale. All’interno di questo quadro teorico e operativo il testo riflette sul contributo cruciale dello Studio di Architettura olandese De Urbanisten e sul relativo approccio alla complessità contemporanea, con particolare attenzione all’adattamento climatico e all’inclusività della natura, prendendo in esame l’esperienza progettuale del Waterplan per la Città Anversa (Belgio) e il progetto pilota che ne è seguito, Wapper, attualmente in fase di realizzazione.

Landscape Designer, è Membro di De Urbanisten (Olanda) dal 2019. Si è laureato in Architettura presso il Politecnico di Milano e ha conseguito il Master Landschapsarchitectuure presso la TUDelft. All’interno dello Studio olandese si è occupato della riqualificazione di aree residenziali e urbane a Schiedam (Dirkzwager), a Nijmegen (Hart van de Waalsprong) e ad Anversa (Wapper) e del Parco delle Maree di Keilehaven a Rotterdam.

Timo Stevens, De Urbanisten (Olanda)

Urban Designer, è stato Membro di De Urbanisten (Olanda) dal 2015 al 2024. Si è laureato presso la HBO Ruimtelijke Ordening en Planologie, Breda (Paesi Bassi) e ha conseguito il Master Landschapsarchitectuure presso la TUDelft. Ha lavorato ai Piani di adattamento climatico di Anversa, Gand, ‘s-Hertogenbosch Delft ed Enschede, alla visione di adattamento climatico Zomerhofkwartier-Agniesebuurt a Rotterdam, al progetto regionale dell’estuario del Reno-Mosa e al Wapper di Anversa.

Ina Macaione, Università della Basilicata (Italia)

Architetto, è Professore Associato presso il Dipartimento per l’Innovazione Umanistica, Scientifica e Sociale (DIUSS). Coordinatore Scientifico del NatureCityLAB, svolge attività di ricerca nel campo della rigenerazione urbana, della progettazione del paesaggio e degli spazi pubblici in un’ottica eco-sostenibile.

Architetto PhD, è Ricercatore RTDA PON R&I FSE-REACT-EU presso il Dipartimento per l’Innovazione Umanistica, Scientifica e Sociale (DIUSS). Svolge attività di ricerca nell’ambito del progetto per la rigenerazione green e adattiva al clima. È componente dei gruppi di ricerca del Nature-City Lab e della Cattedra UNESCO di Matera.
