Abstract

The article, after some references to different opinions on the current restoration field, dwells on the natural matter used in architecture as valuable historic artwork; aiming to preservation and reintegration in the Restoration of Monuments.

Author Biography

Francesco Gurrieri, University of Firenze

Full Professor in Restoration of Monuments and Professor at the Schools of Specialization in Restoration, he was Dean of the Faculty of Architecture of Florence. He has held seminars in Hungary, Poland, France, Switzerland, Brazil and Argentina. He received the Honorary Degree in Cultural Heritage from the University of Lima, has founded the CABEC (Interdisciplinary Center of the University of Florence) and has directed the International University of Art, founded by Carlo L. Ragghianti.
