LCA e domanda energetica complessiva dei prodotti edili in canapa

Il settore edile è uno dei più impattanti per l’ambiente e per ridurne il consumo energetico si sono attuati sforzi che si traducono anche nell’utilizzo di materiali edili a bassa energia incorporata, come la canapa. Per validare la conformità della canapa come materia prima idonea alla costruzione di ‘edifici verdi’ è stata condotta una valutazione del ciclo vita del blocco in calce e canapa e applicata la metodologia Cumulative Energy Demand per valutare l’impatto del blocco sulle risorse energetiche. La valutazione ha rilevato un ridotto impatto ambientale, con bassa influenza sulle diverse fonti energetiche e peso leggermente maggiore su quelle non rinnovabili. In questo modo il blocco risulta idoneo per l’efficientamento energetico e per il raggiungimento degli SDG 6 e 7, riducendo i consumi del settore edile e consentendo un più equo accesso all’energia e all’acqua.
