Abstract

Sebbene in Egitto, tecniche e materiali da costruzione sostenibili siano utilizzati da sempre nel settore residenziale, la richiesta di strategie per incrementarne la sostenibilità sta aumentando esponenzialmente. Lo studio presenta riflessioni su come e quanto una progettazione può essere sostenibile, non soltanto con sistemi altamente tecnologici, e allo stesso tempo accessibile in termini economici, analizza il contesto dei sobborghi del Cairo, illustra dei casi studio che hanno impiegato soluzioni a basso impatto ambientale e conclude con un quadro sinottico di strategie per la sostenibilità e l’accessibilità che possono essere utilizzate per l’edilizia residenziale.

Membro del Comitato Didattico per gli Studi di Progettazione Architettonica per i Corsi di Laurea, ha svolto programmi di progettazione e progettazione urbana per Kesseiba Consultants in Housing and Recreational Projects in Egitto e nei Paesi del Golfo.
